If I am selling a beat on Beatstars and then also put it in my Sync Store, would that cause an issue for the artist who leased the beat?

  3. If I am selling a beat on Beatstars and then also put it in my Sync Store, would that cause an issue for the artist who leased the beat?

No, as long as:

  • You own 100% of the master & publishing for the beat.
  • The beat is not registered to any other Youtube Content ID system.
  • The beat is registered to That Pitch's Youtube Content ID system. (Automatically done as soon as your track is published on your Sync Store.)
  • While That Pitch will not automatically white-list your artist's channel (like we do for licenses you make to buyers through That Pitch), you can fill out our Manual Whitelisting Form when an artist posts the video with that music on Youtube, and our 3rd Party Youtube System will whitelist their channel.
  • The artist who licenses your beat is not allowed to register their track with Youtube Content ID.

IMPORTANT: If your artist buyer on Youtube registers their track with Youtube Content ID, it will cause a copyright infringement with your buyers on That Pitch. While it can eventually get cleared up on Youtube, it will cause delays for your buyers on That Pitch, you'll be in the middle of it, and both your artist, and the film will dispute your charge. Ultimately, That Pitch has no ability to speed up (or guarantee clearance) for that situation. So... it's not worth it. You'll end up losing money & time. The simple solution is to not allow artists who license your beats to register it on Youtube Content ID. That eliminates the majority of problems that can occur.
