  3. What are the Rules when uploading music for Library Distribution (Exclusive)?

Every track you upload to the exclusive catalog must follow these rules. If it doesn't, you could be sued when your track is chosen by a music licensing company. You are liable for the music you upload, not That Pitch. So - for your own interest, follow these rules for every track.

  • Track is unreleased.

  • Track is an instrumental.
  • Track is pitched directly from you, the Writer.
  • Track is 100% represented by you, the uploader, and not a collab between multiple parties.

  • You're registered as a writer with a P.R.O.

  • Song must be over 2 minutes long.
  • Track is NOT registered with a P.R.O.
  • Track is NOT on a Label.
  • Track is NOT registered with Youtube I.D.
  • Track is NOT registered with Google Play.
  • Track is NOT a remix.

  • Track is NOT registered to a publisher.

  • Track has NOT been licensed before (through Sync or any Beat Store.) If it is on a Beat Store right now with no Sales, it needs to be removed before you upload it.
NOTE: Our system automatically finds if it has been licensed before. Don't try to get around this one. You can't break this rule. It will get caught, and your membership may be terminated.

  • Track will NOT be used in a future release by you.

  • Track does NOT have "Producer Tags."

  • Track does NOT use Splice Samples, Apple Loops, or any other Royalty-Free samples in the song.
NOTE: The only acceptable royalty-free samples are drum one-shots and quick textural elements. Royalty-Free samples are often marketed as being completely royalty-free, but often times they're only cleared on master and not on publishing. Using royalty-free samples will 100% flag your track for copyright infringement in the world of sync. For more information on samples, click here.
